- C. Maritkan Reno, NV | Volant Cold Air Intake BoxesVolant Cool Air Intake Systems are revolutionizing the way a true COLD air intake should be manufactured. Volant engineers each vehicle application to give the customer a quality intake that fits and installs like OEM. Volant build all their tooling in house, which allows Volant not to cut any corners because of cost, giving them the upper hand against the competition. Volant modifies the air intake duct and filter box by reducing intake restrictions, rerouting and increasing the diameter of the new air duct without removing any OEM sensors from the vehicle.
All Volant cold air intake systems are molded with a high-grade X-Link polyethylene material to insulate the air box from conducting as much heat as would metal. For example, Volant built the Ford F150 and Ford Expedition cold air Intake system to pull cold air from outside the engine compartment to shield the new high performance reusable cotton gauze filter from the engines heat, leaving an exposed filter in the engine compartment draws the heat from the engine. The hotter it gets the less oxygen there is. Less oxygen makes your engine work much harder and difficult to "breath". Volant designed a smooth 3" air duct to the new Volant filter box that pulls the air from a 4-inch opening against the fender well. Volant Cool Air Intake is much larger than stock Cold Air Intake. It delivers a dramatically increased volume of air. Volant air intake system increased performance up to 18 horsepower and 40 pounds of torque! Depending on driving style, some customers increased their gas mileage by 1 to 2 miles per gallon. Not all intake and exhaust systems are the same and savvy customers know which ones make more power than others. This is why Volant Cool Air Intakes and Exhaust Systems are extremely popular with customers who know. What's the difference? Volant Cool Air Intakes take a different approach to making power. Volant seals conical, high-flow air filter in a box that has more air volume than factory units. This process also eliminates any chance of hot air from contaminating the intake charge to the engine.
Other intakes use shields to block hot air but not all of it is eliminated. With the hood closed and the engine at normal operating temperatures, open element systems do not ingest hot-engine heat. In fact, recent tests have shown that some electric fans actually blow hot air into the intake on those systems using a heat shield. Any time air intake temperatures begin to read 100 degrees and higher, the engine's ECM begins to take away ignition timing and power is dramatically reduced.
Volant has had a tradition of designing and manufacturing high-quality intake and exhaust systems that are constantly tested and improved upon as vehicle models and ECM system become more sophisticated. Volant is also at the cutting edge of air intake performance with new designs that make more consistent horsepower and torque for a variety of truck and sport utility vehicle applications.
With Volant, the quality of components are extremely high and every system includes stainless steel hardware and high-temperature silicone sleeves that do not flex or distort, even under the most extreme conditions. All Volant systems are simple to install.
Volant, through research and development, has maintained itself on the cutting edge of design and performance. Volant continues to monitor and test its products to assure the maximum performance of each engine. Volant performance products have the ultimate design and goal of increasing horsepower and torque.
