The SporTrek crossbar adjustment system allows quick positioning of both crossbars to precisely fit various load dimensions. Adaptable to roof contours with a patented crossbar-to-track connection system, which allows the tracks to pivot, matching the vehicle roof contours for easy installation and crossbar adjustments. Crossbars and Stanchions are manufactured from high strength tempered aluminum extrusions with UV stabilized molded components. SporTrek Roof Rack is installer-friendly with easy installation. Pre-drilled components, self-sealing stainless steel tapping screws and self-adhesive roof slats (3M Tape) provide for a quick "no hassle" installation. SporTrek Roof Racks can handle a 75-pound load capacity evenly distributed on the crossbar assemblies. Roof rack load capacity is stated as "static" load weight. Static load is defined as stationary, non-moving load weight. Load "inertia" created by a vehicle moving at normal operating speeds over dips, bumps, curves, etc. on the roadway can cause the stationary load weight being carried on the crossbars to more than triple. For example, a 50 pound static load on the crossbars can increase to 150-200 pounds or more during normal vehicle operation.
