The US Truck Drivers

According to statistics from the American Trucking Association, there are approximately 3.5 million professional truck drivers in the U.S.

More than 8.5 million people are employed in the freight industry, including those who are not involved in driving.

According to ATA, every 15 people in the country are working in the field of freight transport in this area.

Obviously, the figures show that road transport is a very stable industry that will expand in the future.

According to a study of truck drivers, experienced drivers hit more than 400 billion miles a year on the road.

The road transport industry delivers more than 10 billion tons of cargo per year, which is more than 2/3 of the total weight of cargo transported in the country.

For example, rail transport represents about 13% of the country’s freight turnover.

Job Outlook

Truck drivers have the best prospects for employment in the U.S.

It is estimated that the annual deficit of jobs for truck drivers is about 20,000.

This figure is expected to rise to 112,000 truck drivers by 2023.

By 2025, American companies will create up to 150 vacancies for truck drivers per year.

The continuing shortage is at the heart of the economic core principle that demand for new truck drivers is growing faster than the number of drivers entering the profession.

The U.S. Bureau of Statistics predicts that in the time of 10 years the demand for drivers for employment among truck and tractor drivers will increase by 21% compared to 2019.

The overall increase in the number of jobs in the logistics sector will consist of 43% vacancies for truck drivers according to the Ministry of Labour.
